Diabex, Placer intersect gold

Drill results from the Desjardins gold property, near Lebel-sur-Quevillon, Que., are providing encouragement to Diabex Resources (ME).

The drilling was carried out by Placer Dome (TSE), owner of the property in which Diabex may acquire a 100% interest.

Three mineralized zones were drilled, all of which comprise sulphide-bearing quartz veins associated with deformed iron formation.

Zone 3 tested nine holes over a 400-metre strike length, with the best results being 13.8 grams gold per tonne over 4.95 metres (including 23 grams over 2.95 metres, 9.6 grams over 2.12 metres and 7.28 grams over 4.04 metres). Other results ranged between 1.25 and 5.79 grams over widths of 0.3 to 2.86 metres.

Results from Zones 2 and 1 were 16 grams over 0.7 metres and 10 grams over 1.22 metres, respectively.

Two other holes were drilled 3.5 km west of Zone 3, near the western property boundary, and these intersected 4.7 grams over 1.4 metres and 3.9 grams over 0.4 metres, respectively.
