Conquest intersects Braminco shear zone (January 04, 1988)

Conquest Yellowknife Resources is coming up with some lively intersections in current drilling on its Leeson Twp. gold property in the Missanabie area. Significantly, these lie within what is known as the Braminco shear, the same structure that hosts the Renabie mine.

Near ore-grade intercepts have been encountered in each of the latest holes, reports President G. D. Towers.

Hole No. 87-16 cut 7.1 ft of 0.12 oz while 100 ft to the south No 87-24 returned 3 sections 16.8 ft of 0.06 oz, 13.3 ft of 0.236 oz and 3.5 ft of 0.172 oz. Hole No 87-25, collared 100 ft north of 87-16, returned 18.6 ft of 0.10 oz.

Drilling will continue to probe this structure both north and south to the Renabie boundary, Towers says, adding that the present program is adequately funded.

A drilling program on ground held by Conquest Yellowknife Resources has intersected the extension of the Braminco shear zone which hosts two gold deposits south of the property. Located in Leeson Twp., northeast of Wawa, Ont., the property is north of the operating Renabie gold mine and the Canreos deposit. Both of the latter deposits are associated with the Braminco shear zone, Conquest says.xx

Drilling on the Conquest claims intersected gold mineralization in three holes. Hole 16 cut 7.1 ft grading 0.12 oz gold per ton. Hole 24, collared 100 ft south of 16, intersected 16.8 ft assaying 0.06 oz gold, 13.3 ft grading 0.236 oz gold and 3.5 ft grading 0.172 oz gold per ton. Another hole, No 25, was completed 100 ft north of No 16. This hole intersected 18.6 ft assaying 0.1 oz gold per ton.xx
