A symposium entitled “Reclamation in the Rockies” will be held Sept. 22-25 at the Inn of the South in Cranbrook, B.C.

The event is being co-sponsored by the Canadian Land Reclamation Association and the British Columbia Technical and Research Committee on Reclamation.

Talks will focus on high-level reclamation, self-sustaining revegetation, the closure of acid rock drainage properties, and engineering approaches to reclamation.

Also featured will be visits to the Sullivan polymetallic mine of Cominco, as well as the Line Creek and Fording River coal mines of Manalta Coal and Fording Coal, respectively.
