At the Saray property in northeastern Turkey, Cominco Resources International (TSE) has intersected gold values that support recent trench sampling.
The property, 5 km from the Black Sea, near the town of Fatsa, is a 50-50 joint venture between Cominco Resources and Cominco (TSE).
Assays for the first eight of 18 holes show an average grade of 1.07 grams gold per tonne. The holes were drilled in the Ridge zone, to depths ranging from 47 to 125 metres and with gold mineralization occurring throughout. Previous sampling of trenches within a 600-by-800-metre area indicated an average grade of 0.9 grams.
Holes SD-10 to SD-16 were drilled along a cross-section of a 250-metre-wide section of the Ridge zone, spaced 60 metres apart. Holes SD-9 to SD-13 are spaced 30 metres apart along a line at right angles to the cross-section. The zone remains open in both directions and at depth.
Results from the first eight holes are as follows:
Hole Length Gold
(m) (g/tonne)
SD-9 75 0.96
SD-10 100 0.94
SD-11 100 1.36
SD-12 100 0.97
SD-13 125 1.13
SD-14 103 1.11
SD-15 103 1.09
SD-16 47 0.84
