CIM luncheon to review new Red Dog find

The Vancouver branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum will present a talk by George Cole, Cominco’s vice-president of exploration, on the discovery of a new zinc deposit at the Red Dog mine in Alaska.

The project is a joint venture with a native corporation.

The new discovery nearly doubled reserves and resources there to 152 million tons grading 16% zinc, 5% lead and 2.6 oz. silver per ton.

The meeting will be held at the Stanley Park Pavilion at 12 p.m., April 25. For reservations, call Shane O’Sullivan at (604) 664-3078. Fax: (604) 664-3057.
