At the annual dinner, the society’s Distinguished Service Medal was awarded to Donald Worth, vice- president of the mining specialist group of the Canadia n Imperial Bank of Commerce. He was recognized for his dedication to the CIM and to mining in Canada.
Other award winners were Larry Seeley of Falconbridge Ltd., Arthur Soregaroli of Westmin Resources, Marcel Vallee, Michel David, Largo Albert of Inco Ltd., and Mrs. Yvonne Jones.
Thirteen members were awarded with CIM Fellowships and 39 were inducted into the CIM’s 50-year club.
