The study assumes an open pit mining operation with a stripping ratio of less than 2:1 and trucking ore the 8-mile distance to the MacLellan mill. Metallurgical testing has yielded a gold recovery in excess of 90%.
If the deposit is brought to production, the mill would have to be expanded to accommodate a processing rate of 1,650 tons per day. At this rate, the mill would be capable of producing 75,000 oz of gold per year. In 1988, the MacLellan mine produced 55,188 oz of gold.
At the North zone, 250 ft north of the Burnt Timber deposit, a winter drill program has outlined an inferred reserve of 137,000 tons grading 0.274 oz gold. This reserve could be accessed from the future pit.
LynnGold and Trans America hold a 51% and 49% interest in the project respectively.
