Brunswick facility moving

The concentrate-handling facilities of Brunswick Mining and Smelting (TSE) are moving from Dalhousie, N.B., to nearby Belladune next year.

The cost of the new facilities in Belladune is estimated at $16.5 million.

Brunswick President Derek Pannell said the move is the result of a business decision related to maintaining Brunswick’s competitive position. “Consolidating our shipping close to our existing operations will generate additional business opportunities in the future,” he said.

Pannell said planning for the cleanup of Brunswick’s Dalhousie port facility is under way, and all environmental issues will be addressed.
