Bell Creek mill to be reopened

Having completed the purchase of the Bell Creek mine and mill at Timmins, Ont., from Canamax Resources (TSE), Falconbridge Gold (TSE) says it intends to reopen the mill early in 1992 to process ore from its Timmins-area Hoyle Pond mine.

Falconbridge, which also acquired properties contiguous to the Bell Creek project, said the move should result in operating cost savings and improved metallurgical recoveries.

There are no immediate plans to reopen the Bell Creek mine and explore for new reserves.
