Bateman appointed engineer for Poseidon’s Windarra

Amsterdam-based consulting company Bateman Engineering has been contracted to produce prefeasibility work for Poseidon Nickel’s (PSDNF-O, POS-a) Windarra nickel project, 17 km northwest of Laverton, in Western Australia.

As part of the contract, Bateman will conduct a peer review of Poseidon’s ore processing route and update the project capital and operating cost.

Bateman will base its research out of Perth, Australia, but will pull in expertise from other global centres.

The prefeasibility study is set to be complete and reviewed by Poseidon by the end of the year, before work begins on a bankable feasibility study.

Inaddition to the work being done by Bateman, Poseidon has hired a series of third parties to conduct environmental surveys, tailings studies and water access planning.

The company is aiming for production of 20,000 tonnes of nickel per year at Windarra.
