Located about 1,350 m west of the discovery area where Aur Resources (TSE) and Societe Miniere Louvem (TSE) are drilling a 6.5 million-ton massive sulphide deposit, the Beacon property is thought to have the potential for a similar discovery, according to Aurizon.
A northeast trending fault with unknown displacement transects the geology of the Aurizon property in between the Aur-Louvem deposits and a number of copper zones on Aurizon ground.
According to Aurizon, two of the zones, (D and E) could be related to the Aur-Louvem deposit because geologically they are earlier manifestations of the same, sustained formational event.
Aurizon says it is planning to spend $500,000 on an exploration program consisting of geophysics, mapping and diamond drilling to test down dip extensions of known zones.
Relogging of old diamond drill holes from the southeast corner of the Beacon property to identify patterns of alteration is also planned.
