Drill programs on two copper-zinc properties southwest of Joutel, Que., are planned by Aur Resources (TSE).
In 1993, drilling on the 380-hectare Bonfortel property intersected significant copper, zinc and silver mineralization. One of the best intersections from that program cut 10.8 metres which averaged 0.24% copper, 2.34% zinc and 0.35 oz. silver per tonne.
Aur plans to test two targets with 1,800 metres of drilling. Two holes will be drilled to test one target at the intersection of the Poirier mine chloritic alteration corridor and a wide, northeast-trending zone of copper-zinc mineralization. A third hole will test a rhyolite-andesite contact in the area of the 1993 work.
Aur, the project operator, holds a half interest in the Bonfortel, while Mincor Resources (ASE) and another company each hold 25%.
Aur is also earning a half interest in the Charbon property, contiguous with, and east of, the Bonfortel concession. Aur can earn the interest by spending $500,000 on exploration, including the drilling of two holes totalling 1,200 metres. Aur’s total expenditures to date have been $258,000. Mincor and Lithos (ME) each hold a 25% stake in Charbon.
