Several gold-bearing sections were intersected in a long hole drilled from the 1,250-ft level at the Virginiatown, Ont., property of Armistice Resources (ME), the company reports.
Hole 12W50-9 was drilled 1,508 ft to a depth of about 2,650 ft, with the following results: Segment Width Grade (ft) (ft) (oz/t) 631.1-636 4.9 0.98 823.9-833.4 9.5 0.19 848.4-854.4 6.0 0.24 1063-1067.2 4.2 0.25 1131-1140.8 9.8 0.2 1473.8-1495.8 22.0 0.04
The intersections are in the Sheldon zone which is located above the Kerr zone. The Armistice property is located next to the old Kerr Addison mine; Armistice officials have launched a 2-to-3-year program to explore between 2,000 ft and 6,000 ft in hopes of uncovering a down-faulted extension of the Kerr Addison orebody.
The first opportunity to examine the Kerr zone in detail should occur in January, the company says, when the shaft being extended reaches the 2,050-ft level and an underground drilling station is established at that level to test the area.
