Alberta Stock Exchange Gold Hawk active

Shares of Consolidated Gold Hawk jumped 10 cents to close at 70 cents on volume of 92,200 shares during the week ended Feb. 26. The company is one of several juniors to benefit from a recent gold find by TSE-listed Freewest Resources in Benoit Twp., Que., Gold Hawk, together with ME-listed Orient, owns a block of claims in nearby Nelligan Twp., which adjoins Benoit Twp. Noranda has signed a $1-million option agreement with Gold Hawk and Orient to earn a 50% interest in the 60-claim property. Volume leader for the report period was Savanna Resources which traded more than 1.5 million shares to close up 1 cents at 73 cents. Cyprus Metals Exploration is conducting a drill program to establish base metal reserves on Savanna’s Santa Rosa zinc property near Lone Pine, Calif.

Exploration drilling is underway on Koval Resources’ Uncle Sam property near Sheridan, Mont., where a 5,000-ft. program is probing the downdip extent of a previously outlined surface zone. Koval traded 177,500 shares to close at unchanged at 19 cents.

Partners Integrated Resources and Capra Minerals have identified 15 gold and copper targets for follow-up exploration on their Goat claims situated southwest of Telegraph Creek, B.C. Meanwhile, recent results from surface sampling on the companies’ Blackrock gold property in Nevada include 30 ft. grading 0.16 oz. gold per ton. Integrated rose 1 cents to 12 cents while Capra was unchanged at 15 cents.

Naxos Resources traded 507,300 shares in the 22-26 cents range before closing unchanged at 26 cents. The company is exploring a Chilean property with both massive sulphide and epithermal gold targets.

Borealis Exploration rose 85 cents to $2.85 on thin volume while Durvada Resources gained 25 cents to close at $1 on volume of 50,200 shares. Large drops were recorded by Norad Resources, which shed 24 cents to close at 45 cents, and Stratabound Minerals, which fell 39 cents to $1 on volume of 3,000 shares.
