Junior Abo Resource (VSE) has released encouraging assay results for its Salado property in Argentina.
The company believes the first six drill holes represent a new discovery in the Uspallata copper-gold porphyry belt.
Salado is the first of several copper-gold prospects in the 400,000-hectare project area to be tested. Initial drilling consisted of 15 reverse-circulation holes widely spaced over a zone of alteration measuring 1,000 by 1,000 metres. Assay results for the first six holes are listed in the table below.
Results from the remaining drill holes of this first phase are expected in the next few weeks.
Based on results of the first six holes, Abo is already planning an extensive second phase for July. The program will entail drilling of Salado and other targets identified by extensive airborne and groundborne geophysics, as well as geochemistry throughout the project area.
The company has budgeted US$4 million for exploration.
Abo holds an option to buy half of the Uspallata project from Argentina Mineral Development, which itself is 47%-owned by Australia’s Climax Mining.
