Reverse-circulation drilling, under way on the OK minesite near Milford, Utah, indicates that potential exists for a significant oxide copper deposit.
Centurion Mines (NASDAQ) has drilled 24 holes to date, totalling 9,460 ft. The company holds 19,800 acres of land in the area, about 180 miles southwest of Salt Lake City.
In the early 1970s, the OK mine produced 1.5 million tons of ore with an average grade of 1.6% copper. Preliminary testing indicates the deposit is amenable to solvent extraction-electrowinning.
