Loki encouraged by results of Brewery Creek leach test

Encouraging results were reported by Loki Gold (VSE) following cyanide leach test work completed on four bulk trench samples from the Brewery Creek property near Dawson City, Yukon. The property is owned and operated by a unit of Noranda (TSE), with Loki Gold earning a 49% interest through exploration expenditures. This year’s $3.5 million program is slated to begin in April, with more than 36,000 ft. of reverse circulation exploration drilling planned to start in early May.

The recent cyanide leach test work was completed by Nevada-based company Kappes, Cassidy and Associates. Each of the four bulk trench samples consisted of about 300 kilograms of material taken from the Moosehead, Golden, Canadian and Kokanee zones.

Cyanide column leach tests were conducted on each of the four samples crushed to 100% passing 2-inch. All tests were run for 54 days, and gold recoveries averaged 84.3% and ranged from 76.3% to 90.7%. The tests also indicated that crushing to minus 1-inch would increase average gold recovery by 5%

Chemical consumption in the column tests averaged 0.64 lb. sodium cyanide and 6.01 lb. hydrated lime per ton of ore.
