Junior Pan African Resources (PARC-C) continues to step up exploration efforts in the continent from which it takes its name. A round of drilling has just wound down in Mali, one has just wound up in Ethiopia, and another is being prepared in Eritrea.
At the Dioulafoundou project in western Mali, Pan African completed a 65-hole drill program that started in March. The latest round confirmed results of previous core drilling, establishing the presence of a continuous zone of north-south-trending mineralization over a length of 560 metres.
Additional mineralization was also located, and is associated with a dioritic intrusive and a cross-cutting breccia structure. However, the rainy season arrived early, which led to the postponment of additional drilling near some artisanal workings on the 34-sq.-km. property.
At the Menghi prospect on Ethiopia ‘s Dul property, Pan African has started a 7-hole program of core drilling, the goal being to test the continuity of mineralization identified by trenching. Additional trenching has helped define drill sites. New gold assays from the eastern extension of trench 1 included 9 metres grading 1.4 grams gold per tonne. The western extension includes two zones of mineralization covering 13.5 metres grading 5.3 grams gold and 22.4 metres at 5.8 grams.
In the tiny country of Eritrea, north of Ethiopia, Pan African plans to drill four core holes, for a total of 800 metres. The goal here is to confirm, and possibly expand, the known resource at the Adi Rassi copper-gold deposit.
Situated within the Galla Valley exploration licence, south of the capital city of Asmara, the Adi Rassi contains a resource of 9.8 million tonnes grading 1.32% copper and 0.78 gram gold.
