Assays from chip samples taken from a decline ramp have been received by La Fosse Platinum Group. The sampling was completed on the company’s Blue Lake property, located northeast of Schefferville, Que.
The program has identified two types of mineralization hosting base and precious metals. In the massive sulphide zones, the average chip sample was 1.27% copper, 0.72% nickel, 0.2 g platinum and 0.8 g palladium per tonne. The gram assays are equivalent to 0.0058 oz platinum per ton and 0.023 oz palladium per ton.
In the second type of mineralization, which is disseminated in nature, sampling returned an average grade of 1.24% copper, 0.46% nickel, 0.2 g platinum and 7.08 g palladium per tonne.
A surface drill program will test for extensions of the Blue Lake structure, La Fosse says. To date, the company has partially tested three km of the structure, which is known to strike for 18 km across La Fosse’s ground.
