X-Cal pulls good gold assays at Snowbird’s new North zone

Some encouraging drill results were released recently from X-Cal Resources’ (TSE) Snowbird gold property near Fort St. James, B.C.

The Toronto company is currently drilling the new “North Zone” which has more than doubled the potential of the 5,000-acre property. Discovered this year, along a strike length of 1,200 ft, it recently produced a 20-ft intersection grading up to 0.3 oz gold per ton.

Significant gold assays from the discovery holes outlining the new “North zone” were: Hole Width (ft) Grade oz/ton 88-6 8.69 0.226 oz

9.85 0.109 oz 88-9 3.28 0.298 oz 88-13 3.77 0.110 oz

20.08 0.319 oz

2.28 1.412 oz 88-14 10.17 0.089 oz

3.35 0.252 oz

Until recently, X Cal has concentrated its drilling efforts at the Snowbird zone where outcrops like the Peg Leg vein (one of a series of veins contained within the main alteration zone) averaged 0.38 oz over a 217-ft surface exposure.

With the North zone included, the main alteration zone continues over a 4,000 ft length. It is also open to the north, south and at depth, X-Cal says.

A deep hole, No 88-15 drilled to test for depth continuity in the Snowbird zone area, intersected the main alteration zone at a depth of 600 ft to 700 ft.

Although gold values were low, President Shawn Kennedy says the deep hole is significant because it shows that the main alteration zone is continuous down dip for at least 1,200 ft. Highlights from drilling on the Snowbird zone are as follows: Hole Width (ft) Grade oz/ton 86-2 13.9 0.27 oz 86-6 5.0 23.00 oz 86-7 3.28 0.715 oz C-1 5.0 0.27 oz C-2 5.0 0.35 oz P-6 3.0 0.698 oz P-7 8.0 0.58 oz

Future plans at Fort St. James include more drilling on the North zone, said Kennedy.
