A lithium carbonate plant in Western Australia is expected to be commissioned in October.
Perth-based Gwalia Consolidated reports that the plant will have an annual capacity of 5,000 tonnes, with feedstock coming from the Greenbushes’ spodumene deposit (spodumene being a lithium mineral).
Lithium carbonate is used in the glass, ceramic and aluminum smelting industries.
