Longyear, based in North Bay, Ont., is a world leader in diamond core drilling equipment and has been in business for 104 years. Boart acquired it in 1974.

N. Morissette, based in Haileybury, Ont., and acquired by Longyear in 1986, provides diamond core drilling services.
