Takla Star earns interest

Alberta-listed Takla Star Resources has entered two agreements with Uranerz U.S.A. (a unit of Uranerz Exploration & Mining) to explore the Slaven Canyon gold projects in Lander Cty., Nev.

The projects are on the Battle Mountain-Eureka gold trend, 15 miles north of Placer Dome’s (TSE) Pipeline deposit.

Takla can acquire up to a 40% interest in Uranerz’s Slaven Canyon North project and up to 40% of Uranerz’s total interest in the Slaven Canyon South project. The South project is now being explored by Equinox Resources (TSE) and Uranerz, which has a right to earn 70% of the project.

Takla Star’s earn-in involves spending US$1.5 million over four years. Expenditures in 1993 will total US$150,000 and involve at least 4,000 ft. of diamond drilling.

The 1993 drill program, to begin shortly, will test several targets, including gold geochemical anomalies with surface expressions of up to 1,000 ft. by 500 ft.
