The former president and chief executive officer of gold-producer McIntyre Porcupine Mines, J.K. Godin, died recently. He was 82.
A native of Eganville, Ont., he spent his working life with McIntyre, where he started underground. He retired in 1971.
Godin attended St. Michael’s College in Toronto, where he played hockey at the Junior A level.
Godin served as commissioner of appeals for the Workers’ Compensation Board. He and his wife of 53 years, Margaret Mary, raised seven children.
