Five commemorative stamps will be issued this month by Canada Post to celebrate the 150th anniversary this year of the Geological Survey of Canada. Five minerals will be featured: gold, copper, sodalite (an ornamental stone), grossular (of the garnet group) and gelena.
The Mining Association of Canada is sponsoring the stamp issue, which will be introduced at the annual Mine Ministers conference Sept. 21 in Whitehorse, Yukon.
