COATS (over-the-counter) Dayton gains 35 cents

An active trader again this week was Carolin Mines which gained 3 cents to close at 27 cents on 11 transactions. The company has some interesting gold properties in British Columbia including the old Ladner Creek mine near Hope.

Also making significant progress was the Milestone Resources issue which added 9 cents to its price before closing at 42 cents . The company plans to drill a property in the Bird River area of Manitoba.

Up by 11 cents was Seaway Base Metals. That issue closed at 16 cents on a volume of 88,000 shares. President Gorden Leliever said there are seven drills operating near the south boundary of Seaway’s 55- claim property in Chester Twp, Ont. He speculated that diamond drillers have been buying up the company’s shares.

Also working on another Chester Twp. gold property is Young- Shannon Gold Mines, which posted a gain of 5 cents before closing at $1.25 this week. Chester Twp.is 120 miles north of Sudbury.

Pinetree Exploration saw 33 trades before closing at 36 cents , a gain of 9 cents on the week. The company is getting out of the exploration business to look at opportunities in the industrial field.

Cash-rich Atlantic Goldfields backed off by 5 cents on a heavy volume of more than one million shares. The closing price for the Atlantic Goldfields issue was $1.15. That company is also moving out of the mineral exploration field.
