Gamsan’s 100%-owned Brabant Lake property is located 160 km northeast of La Ronge, Sask.
The best assay from recent drilling of the sulphide zone was a 13.8-ft wide intersection which graded 10.1% zinc, 0.7% copper, and 0.4 oz silver per ton. Hole 1 returned 3.3 ft of 3.8% zinc, with low copper and silver, while hole 2 intersected 7.0 ft grading 2.4% zinc, 0.4% copper, 0.2 oz silver per ton.
The drill program, currently under way, will endeavour to delineate the extent of the sulphide lens cut by the initial drilling. Gold- bearing sulphide mineralization suggested by previous exploration will also be tested.
Gamsan’s Vice-president, Roger Morton, said the Brabant Lake deposit, which had previously been shown to contain at least 3.5 million tonnes of drill-indicated reserves, now appears to have enhanced potential for higher grade sulphide mineralization.
Funding for the on-going drill program was placed by Bayford, Merrifield Inc., which raised a total of $284,500 at $1 per share through a flow-through offering last month.
