Partners Gowest Amalgamated Resources (GWA-A) and Hemlo Gold Mines (HEM-T) have begun follow-up drilling on the Denton Twp. property, 40 km southwest of Timmins, Ont.
The property, 3 km west of the recent Band-Ore gold discovery, includes the same sedimentary sequence that hosts the gold mineralization.
Earlier this year, Hemlo, as operator, encountered gold mineralization during a 2-hole drill program while testing induced-polarization (IP) targets.
Hole 16 encountered 1.03 grams gold per tonne over 58 metres, including 3.34 grams gold over 3.5 metres and 4.38 grams gold over 4.5 metres. Hole 17, located 500 metres north of hole 16, intersected 3.82 grams gold over 4.9 metres, including 10.6 grams gold over 1.3 metres.
The partners have completed IP surveys across the property and are using the results to guide follow-up drilling in an 8-hole, 2,225-metre program.
Hemlo has a 70% interest in the property, with Gowest holding 25.5 % and Jonpol Explorations (JON-T) the remaining 4.5%.
