McGill to host engineering seminar

The Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering at McGill University will present a 2-day course on surface analysis techniques as part of its ongoing professional development seminars.

Directed primarily at research engineers, the seminar, scheduled for May 17-18, will outline the basic principles of various instrumental techniques available for the mining industry.

Programs include infrared and Raman spectroscopy, electron beam techniques, atomic force microscopy and laser ion mass spectroscopy.

Sessions will be held at the department’s seminar facilities at 2020 University St.
