DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Mining & Exploration International Conference & Expo (MEI2018) will be held September 6\, 2018 through September 8\, 2018\, at the Las Vegas Convention Center\, Las Vegas\, Nevada. Workforce Development\, Sustainability & Community and Technology are the primary areas of emphasis for the conference. \nMINING & EXPLORATION CONFERENCE\nThe conference provides a forum for international leaders in mining\, exploration and associated industries to share their expertise and explore the latest research\, challenges and trends that will shape the future of the industry. The conference schedule includes presentations\, poster sessions and workshops. Special focus will be placed on the following topics: \nWorkforce Development\nExploring solutions to help meet the workforce needs of the private sector\, academia and government in an environment that is increasingly demanding due to staffing shortages as well as advances in technology. \nSustainability & Community\nWays the industry is meeting the needs of regulatory agencies and public via emerging technologies that enable us to reduce environmental impacts and demonstrate responsible stewardship. Sharing strategies for balancing mining and exploration with support for and engagement with the communities in which we work. \nTechnology\nA look at digital and emerging technologies that enable those in the industry to remain competitive in today’s complex environment. \nConference Director\, Madalena Maestri EdD\, says\, “We are very pleased to offer an opportunity for an international audience to address these critical topics. We’re putting together a powerhouse lineup of speakers and moderators\, who will share their expertise\, technology advancements and the latest research.” \nMINING & EXPLORATION EXPO\nWith 500 booths\, meeting rooms and suites\, the Expo provides the opportunity to view the latest technologies in mining and processing\, and meet with industry colleagues and thought leaders. All aspects of the industry will be represented\, including coal\, metal\, surface and nonmetal underground mining. \nStudent Poster Session\nWe invite students to submit abstracts on current work in the areas of: workforce development\, sustainability and technology. Session sponsors will select three students to be awarded $500 each for entries that demonstrate excellence.

DESCRIPTION:The APGO is hosting RPA to give this one day course on September 19.
