Philip Harwood-Vice-President Marketing

BFL CANADA

Vancouver, British Columbia – Natural Resources Practice

For more than 15 years, Philip Harwood has provided differentiated risk transfer programs for large complex multinational clients in the natural resources sector. This includes mining companies involved in base/precious metals, diamonds, uranium, coal, lithium, etc.; and forestry companies ranging from dimensional lumber suppliers to large integrated pulp and paper companies.

As one of the only placements specialists in the country focusing on mining and forestry risks, Philip has a unique perspective on the issues faced by mining companies and is able to navigate the insurance marketplace to ensure a clients’ program and priorities are placed with the appropriate counterparties for both the short and long term.

Philip has worked with a wide variety of clients, from small exploration companies to those with property schedules in excess of $30bln. His sharp focus and depth of placement knowledge enables him to represent his clients to the insurance marketplace in a manner that few can match.

Philip joins our Natural Resource practice in Vancouver, which has attracted clients with worldwide operations from all across the country. The practice currently provides risk management, loss control and claims advocacy services to private and public companies.
